The KENNAMETAL 3755484 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation CPMT3251LF and ISO designation CPMT09T304. Coated with a multilayer PVD AlTiN/AlCrN finish under the KCK20 grade, it delivers high wear resistance when machining steel and cast iron. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry, while the positive rake angle of 5 degrees and honed cutting edge style support stable, consistent chip formation. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches, an insert length of 9.67 mm (0.3808 inches), and a corner radius of 1/64 inch (0.0156 inches), this insert is engineered for finishing and light machining operations. It seats via screw-on insert holding in compatible toolholders.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel (ISO P workpiece material) and cast iron (ISO K workpiece material). The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining passes, making it appropriate for applications where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities. The positive side clearance (clearance code P) and neutral insert hand allow fitment in a range of CPMT-style screw-on toolholders. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0500 inches). The KCK20 grade is characterized by high wear resistance in steel applications and moderate wear resistance combined with toughness in cast iron applications.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is properly secured before seating or replacing the insert. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified insert screw torque when fastening the screw-on retention screw. Inspect the insert pocket and locating surfaces for chips or debris before seating to ensure proper insert contact and repeatability.
