Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 3754363 is a CNMG432RN indexable turning insert in the KCP30 carbide grade, designed for steel cutting operations in CNC turning, facing, and boring applications. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating stack of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering wear resistance and thermal protection at the cutting zone. The 80-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code C) provides a strong cutting edge geometry, while the RN chip breaker and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style suit a broad range of steel roughing and semi-finish passes. Insert length is 12.9 mm with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.0313 inch (1/32 inch) corner radius.

This insert is intended for steel workpiece materials (ISO material group P) in production turning environments. Typical applications include external turning, facing, and internal boring on lathes and turning centers. The neutral hand orientation and four available cutting edges support versatile tooling setups. The KENLOC series designation indicates compatibility with KENNAMETAL KENLOC-style clamp-and-pin insert pockets. Compliant with both ANSI and ISO insert standards under the CNMG432RN industry standard number.

Key Features

  • Multilayer CVD coating (TiN / TiCN / Al2O3) via MTCVD process for extended tool life in steel cutting
  • 80-degree diamond insert shape with negative rake and 0-degree relief angle for high edge strength
  • RN chip breaker geometry suited to turning, facing, and boring on steel
  • Four cutting edges per insert maximizes cost-per-edge efficiency
  • Chamfered and honed cutting edge style reduces chipping on interrupted and continuous cuts
  • Clamp and pin insert holding method compatible with KENLOC-style toolholders

Compatibility

Designed for use in KENNAMETAL KENLOC-series toolholders accepting CNMG432 inserts with clamp-and-pin retention. Conforms to ANSI and ISO CNMG432RN standards, making it dimensionally compatible with any ANSI- or ISO-compliant CNMG432 insert pocket.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before indexing or replacing inserts, confirm the machine spindle is locked and all motion is stopped. Use the appropriate torque wrench and KENNAMETAL-specified clamp hardware when seating the insert in the pocket - do not overtighten the clamp screw with hand tools alone. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamp pin for wear or debris before installing a fresh cutting edge.
