The KENNAMETAL 3753472 is a solid carbide turning insert conforming to ANSI code WNMG331 and ISO code WNMG060404. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 in the KCP25 grade, which delivers moderate wear resistance and toughness across steel and cast iron applications. The 80-degree trigon (W) insert shape provides six usable cutting edges with a negative rake and negative side clearance. Insert length measures 0.513 inches (6.52 mm), inscribed circle is 0.375 inches, insert thickness is 0.1875 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0156 inches (1/64 inch). This insert is part of the KENLOC series and is held by clamp or pin methods. It is installed and changed by machinists and CNC operators in production turning operations.
This insert is suited for external turning, facing, and boring on CNC and manual lathes. The MN chip breaker geometry supports roughing and medium machining operations. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO N), with grade characteristics covering both moderate wear resistance and toughness for steel and moderate to high toughness for aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The neutral hand orientation allows use in standard right-hand toolholders without handedness restrictions. Meets both ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Designed for use in KENLOC series toolholders accepting WNMG331 (ISO WNMG060404) negative-style turning inserts. Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully stopped and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the insert firmly against all toolholder contact surfaces before tightening the clamp or pin to ensure proper edge registration. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping hardware for wear or debris before each insert change. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.049 inches (1.25 mm) as specified for this geometry.
