The KENNAMETAL 3753254 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI code DNMG432MN and grade designation KCP10. It features a multilayer CVD coating - TiCN plus Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process - engineered for high wear resistance in steel and cast iron applications. The insert has a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a negative rake angle, and a negative side clearance. It measures 15.5 mm (0.609 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The MN chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining operations. This insert is part of the KENLOC series and is held by clamp or pin methods. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in production turning applications.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. The KCP10 grade delivers high wear resistance on steel (P-grade materials) and moderate wear resistance with toughness on aluminum and non-ferrous materials (N-grade). The MN chip breaker handles variable chip loads common in roughing passes and medium-depth cuts. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.049 inches). The four available cutting edges extend insert utilization across high-volume production runs in both manual and CNC turning centers.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting DNMG432 insert geometry with clamp or pin holding. Conforms to ANSI insert code DNMG432 and ISO insert code DNMG150408.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp hardware specified for the KENLOC toolholder to secure the insert; do not overtighten by feel alone. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure.
