The KENNAMETAL 3753211 is a CNMG431FN KCP10 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for precision finishing operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. It features a multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 coating applied via MTCVD and CVD processes, delivering high wear resistance on steel and a combination of wear resistance and toughness on aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, negative rake geometry, and honed cutting edge style contribute to consistent surface finish quality. With four usable cutting edges and compatibility with clamp and pin holding methods, this insert suits high-productivity turning applications managed by machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is intended for use in external turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The FN chip breaker is optimized for finishing cuts, and the KCP10 grade targets steel (ISO P) as the primary workpiece material while also performing on cast iron and non-ferrous metals (ISO N). The KENLOC series designation indicates compatibility with KENNAMETAL KENLOC-style toolholders that accept CNMG-style inserts. A maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm) aligns with light finishing pass requirements typical in precision component machining environments.
Designed for use in KENNAMETAL KENLOC series toolholders accepting CNMG-style inserts. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring of steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Insert holding methods include clamp and pin configurations.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips or debris before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw to avoid insert movement or pocket damage during cutting.
