The KENNAMETAL 3752117 is a DNMG432RP solid carbide turning insert coated with multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 via an MTCVD coating process, carrying the KCK05 manufacturer grade. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake angle with negative side clearance. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, insert length is 15.50 mm (approximately 0.6106 inches per side), and insert thickness is 3/16 inches. The RP chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining operations. Machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in KENLOC-style toolholders on production turning equipment.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on steel (P-class) and cast iron (K-class) workpiece materials, with secondary applicability to non-ferrous materials (N-class). The KCK05 grade delivers high wear resistance in both steel and cast iron applications. The four available cutting edges and clamp-and-pin holding method make it a practical choice for high-production environments where insert life and consistent surface finish are priorities in roughing through medium-duty passes.
Designed for use in KENLOC series toolholders accepting DNMG432 geometry inserts. Compatible with ANSI insert code DNMG432 and ISO insert code DNMG150408. Rated for primary workpiece materials steel (P) and cast iron (K), with secondary compatibility for non-ferrous materials (N). Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping pin are clean and free of chips before installing to maintain proper seating and edge registration. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidance for the clamping screw; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under uneven clamping load.
