The KENNAMETAL 3751558 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG432CT geometry, finished with a multilayer MTCVD TiCN and Al2O3 coating under the KCP25 grade designation. It carries a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake and side clearance configuration. The insert measures 15.5 mm (1.2208 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle diameter and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. Four cutting edges are available per insert. The CT chip breaker geometry is engineered for roughing and medium machining operations. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians using standard toolholders designed for the KENLOC series.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The KCP25 grade delivers moderate wear resistance combined with toughness, making it appropriate for interrupted cuts and variable stock conditions common in job-shop and production-floor environments. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The insert conforms to both ANSI (DNMG432) and ISO (DNMG150408) standards, fitting toolholders designed to those specifications.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting DNMG432 (ANSI) or DNMG150408 (ISO) inserts. Insert holding method is compatible with clamp and pin retention systems. Suitable for primary workpiece materials classified as Steel (P) and Non-Ferrous and Cast Iron (N) per ISO material group designations.
Installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamp or pin to avoid seating errors that can cause premature edge failure. Inspect the pocket and clamping hardware for wear or debris before each insert change. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for the specific clamping system in use.
