Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 3751152 is a DNMG432FF turning insert in grade KCP05, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering high wear resistance on steel and cast iron workpieces. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape provides a strong cutting geometry with a negative rake angle of 20 degrees and a honed cutting edge for consistent finish quality. It measures 15.5 mm in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 3/16 inch thickness, and a 1/32 inch corner radius. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of the KENLOC toolholding system.

This insert is rated for finishing operations with a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm). It is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications. The FF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts on steel (P-grade workpiece materials) with high wear resistance, and provides moderate wear resistance and toughness on aluminum and non-ferrous materials (N-grade). It is also applicable to cast iron (secondary workpiece material code K). The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with both right- and left-hand toolholder configurations. Each insert provides 4 cutting edges, reducing per-edge tooling cost in production environments.

Key Features

  • Multilayer CVD coating (TiCN plus Al2O3) via MTCVD process for high wear resistance on steel and cast iron
  • FF chip breaker geometry optimized for finishing operations
  • 55-degree diamond insert shape with negative rake and honed cutting edge for controlled surface finish
  • 4 cutting edges per insert with neutral hand orientation
  • Compatible with both clamp and pin insert holding methods
  • Conforms to ANSI insert code DNMG432 and ISO insert code DNMG150408

Compatibility

Designed for use in KENLOC series toolholders accepting DNMG-style inserts. Compatible with clamp and pin holding methods. Conforms to ANSI code DNMG432 and ISO code DNMG150408. Suitable for steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe indexed position before changing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces before engaging the clamp or pin. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw and inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new edge.
