The KENNAMETAL 3742552 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting applications. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter and accepts EC10 and EP10 series inserts secured by screw-type holding, delivering repeatable 90-degree shoulder profiles. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.396 inches and a 0-degree lead angle, this toolholder is built for true square-shoulder engagement. The through-coolant design - with a 0.196 inch coolant hole diameter - supports chip evacuation and heat management at elevated spindle speeds up to 50,300 RPM. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops and production environments will find this a reliable toolholder for ferrous and non-ferrous applications.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers performing square-shoulder, face, and slot milling in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The Weldon flat shank in 3/4 inch diameter provides positive drive retention in compatible tool holders. With a 2-insert, 2-flute configuration, this Mill 1-10 style toolholder is commonly used in precision component manufacturing where square wall geometry and controlled chip load are required. Its 1.000 inch head length and 3.03 inch overall length position it for short-reach, high-rigidity setups.
Compatible with EC10 and EP10 series indexable inserts as specified by the manufacturer. ISO number M1D062E1002W075L100 may be used for cross-reference to equivalent tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked-out, tagged-out state before mounting or changing inserts. Torque insert screws to the toolholder manufacturer's specification using the correct Torx or hex key. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator after mounting before engaging the workpiece.
