The KENNAMETAL 3682450 is a solid carbide milling insert in the EDCT series, designed for high-performance milling of non-ferrous metals. It carries the ISO designation EDCT10T304PDFRLDJ and the ANSI code EC1004FLDJ, and is manufactured to Kennametal grade KC410M with a PVD-applied Titanium Diboride (TiB2) coating. The insert features a parallelogram shape with a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, a relief angle of 15 degrees, and a sharp cutting edge style. At 0.148 inches thick and 0.266 inches wide, it delivers precise, clean cuts in aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. Holding method is screw-based, and the insert is right-hand oriented with the LD chip breaker configuration.
This insert is intended for milling applications focused on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum alloys, copper, and similar materials where sharp geometry and a low-friction TiB2 coating reduce built-up edge and improve surface finish. It is compatible with the Kennametal Mill 1-10 cutter series and is suited for CNC machining centers in both production and job-shop environments. The single-sided design with two cutting edges supports consistent performance and straightforward indexing. Installation and application are appropriate for CNC machinists and tooling technicians working in precision milling operations.
Designed for use with the Kennametal Mill 1-10 cutter series. Conforms to ISO code EDCT10T304PDFRLDJ and ANSI code EC1004FLDJ. Intended for right-hand milling of non-ferrous metals.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to secure the mounting screw. Inspect the cutter pocket seat for debris or damage before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for proper clamping sequence to avoid insert rocking or premature edge failure.
