The KENNAMETAL 3660399 is a solid carbide roughing finishing end mill designed for aggressive material removal and refined surface finishing in a single tool. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for demanding milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/8 inch diameter, 2-flute geometry with a 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 3/4 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length, the 3660399 is suited for tight-tolerance machining applications where tool rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical. Machinists and CNC operators in production shops, tool rooms, and job shops specify this series for both roughing passes and light finishing work.
This end mill fits standard machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills using a 3/8 inch straight shank holder. The Series ABDF designation covers regular-length, single-end, square-end geometry with right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute direction. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a cost-effective choice for general-purpose milling where specialty coatings are not required. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into workpieces, broadening its range of applicable operations including slotting, profiling, and pocket milling.
Designed for use with standard 3/8 inch straight-shank end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Part of the KENNAMETAL Series ABDF regular-length end mill line.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Confirm the tool holder bore and collet are clean and undamaged before seating the shank. Torque the drawbar or collet nut according to the machine tool manufacturer specifications only. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and do not exceed the recommended radial or axial depth of cut for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
