The KENNAMETAL 3658849 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 3-flute spiral configuration with a 37-degree helix angle. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction (Material Grade K600) delivers sharp cutting edges and thermal stability at the tool tip. This is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can be plunged directly into a workpiece as well as run in conventional side-milling passes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling applications where edge integrity and dimensional accuracy are priorities.
This end mill is suited for use in machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual mills handling steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction pair well with standard spindle configurations. At 5 inches overall length with a 3/4-inch shank diameter, it fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders common in production and job-shop environments. The regular-length geometry keeps deflection manageable in moderate-depth slotting and profiling cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill in the KENNAMETAL AADE series, compatible with standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and Weldon-shank adapters used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the manufacturer-recommended gauge line and torque set screws per the holder specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or micro-fractures before each use, as solid carbide tools can be damaged by improper storage or handling.
