The KENNAMETAL 3658848 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 3/4-inch mill diameter, a 0.12-inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes in a coarse pitch configuration, this tool delivers controlled material removal with reduced chipping at part edges. The high helix style promotes efficient chip evacuation. At 4 inches overall length with a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, it is sized for short-reach roughing work. It is center-cutting, allowing direct plunging into material. Licensed HVAC and metalworking trades as well as CNC machinists install and operate this tool in production environments.
This end mill is engineered primarily for roughing operations on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, copper, and similar workpiece materials. The bright/uncoated finish is appropriate for materials where coated surfaces may cause adhesion or built-up edge issues. Its straight-cylindrical 3/4-inch shank fits standard toolholders and is compatible with hydraulic sleeve holders in the HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 inch bore range, HC 20M through HC 32M metric hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, and HC-HSK Form A toolholding systems. The AADE series designation identifies it within the Kennametal short-length, high-helix end mill family.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and HC-HSK Form A toolholding systems. Intended for use on non-ferrous metal workpieces as the primary material application.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Ensure the straight-cylindrical shank is fully seated and clamped to the specified toolholder torque per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and degrades surface finish. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; apply external coolant or mist as required by the machining operation.
