The KENNAMETAL 3658845 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. With a 3/4-inch mill diameter, a 7/8-inch length of cut, and a 3-flute spiral configuration at a 37-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide construction at material grade K600 provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding milling operations. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge entry into workpiece material. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians specify this end mill for applications requiring tight dimensional control.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling in job shops, production machining environments, and toolroom operations. The 3/4-inch shank diameter matches common R8, CAT, BT, and HSK toolholders used on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The bright uncoated finish makes it a strong candidate for aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials where coating buildup can cause adhesion issues. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional milling machine spindle rotation. The 3-inch overall length suits standard reach requirements without excess overhang.
Designed for use in standard 3/4-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines. Part of the KENNAMETAL Series AADE end mill family.
Installation requires a properly torqued toolholder matched to the 3/4-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator after seating in the holder, as excessive runout reduces tool life and dimensional accuracy. Consult the machine manufacturer and applicable OSHA standards for safe operating speeds and feeds before use.
