The KENNAMETAL 3658821 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It carries a 0.25 inch mill diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius and a 1.25 inch length of cut, giving machinists a controlled edge profile that reduces chipping at corners and extends tool life in high-volume operations. The extra-long 3.25 inch overall length allows access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a high helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation, while the bright uncoated submicron carbide grade suits aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool suitable for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines handling non-ferrous metal workpieces. Its coarse pitch and high helix geometry make it well suited for roughing passes in aluminum and similar materials where chip load and evacuation are priorities. The 0.25 inch straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet chucks and hydraulic toolholding systems. Per the supplier specifications, this tool is designed for use with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores and the HC-CV Form AD toolholder interface.
Designed for use with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores and the HC-CV Form AD toolholder. The 0.25 inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard 1/4 inch collet systems. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (material code N), including aluminum and similar alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as extra-long end mills are more sensitive to runout than standard-length tools. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the specific collet or hydraulic chuck in use.
