The KENNAMETAL 3641783 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation EDPT10T304PDERHD and manufacturer grade KCPK30. It belongs to the EDPT series and is designed for use in positive-rake face milling and shoulder milling operations. The insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection across a wide range of cutting conditions. With a parallelogram insert shape, a 70-degree included angle, a right-hand cut orientation, and an HD chip breaker geometry, this insert is engineered for productive metal removal on difficult materials. It is held in the cutter body by a screw clamp and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of five units.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, covering material grade classifications C1, C5, and C6 per ANSI and ISO standards. It is compatible with Kennametal Mill 1-10 cutter series tooling. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finishing operations on CNC machining centers in both job shop and production environments. The two cutting edges per insert and single-sided design make it straightforward to index and replace during scheduled tool changes. Machinists and tooling technicians working in aerospace, energy, and general metalworking applications will find this insert well suited to demanding cutting scenarios.
Designed for use with Kennametal Mill 1-10 series milling cutter bodies. ANSI code EP1004EHD. ISO code EDPT10T304PDERHD. Conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified procedure. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating the new insert to ensure proper support and runout.
