The KENNAMETAL 3637002 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the HPHV series platform, this single-end, centercutting tool features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a high helix angle. The TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. At 5 inches overall length with a 2-1/2 inch length of cut and extended reach, it handles deep-cavity and long-reach applications that shorter tooling cannot address. The submicron carbide grade supports consistent edge integrity across aggressive roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and mills operated by skilled machinists and tooling specialists. It is suited for roughing and finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive retention in collet and end mill holders. Compatible holder forms include EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A configurations. The extended reach geometry makes it particularly useful for deep pockets, tall workpiece features, and areas with restricted spindle access.
Compatible with EM-CV Form AD and EM IN-HSK Form A toolholders as specified by the manufacturer. The 1/2 inch Weldon flat shank fits standard 1/2 inch bore end mill holders on CNC machining centers configured for right-hand cutting tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat against the setscrew in the holder and torque the setscrew to the toolholder manufacturer's specification — do not estimate. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm spindle speed and feed parameters match the recommended values for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
