The KENNAMETAL 3580819 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in steel and high-temperature alloy applications. Built on the UDDE series platform with a KC643M micrograin carbide grade, this single-end tool features five flutes with a 38-degree helix angle and a variable index design that reduces harmonic vibration during cuts. The AlTiN coating delivers thermal resistance and extended tool life in demanding ferrous and superalloy materials. At 0.75 inches in cutting diameter with a 1.5-inch length of cut, this tool is sized for standard roughing and finishing passes where rigidity and surface finish both matter.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running steel (ISO P) and high-temperature alloys (ISO S) in aerospace, tooling, and general metalworking environments. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute geometry is compatible with standard CNC spindle configurations. The regular-length format and 3/4-inch shank diameter fit conventional ER and side-lock toolholders. It is not center-cutting, so plunge entries require a pre-drilled hole or ramp entry strategy. Extended-reach and coolant-through configurations are not applicable to this part.
Designed for use in steel (ISO P) and high-temperature alloy (ISO S) workpiece materials. Fits standard 3/4-inch ER collet chucks, hydraulic toolholders, and side-lock end mill holders. Part of the KENNAMETAL UDDE series.
Installation and operation of solid carbide end mills should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before mounting, confirm toolholder runout is within acceptable tolerance — excessive runout accelerates edge chipping in carbide tooling. This tool is not center-cutting; program ramp or helical entry paths for pocket operations to avoid plunge damage to the cutting edges. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate parameters when working with high-temperature alloys.
