The KENNAMETAL 3580808 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in interrupted or continuous cuts. The five-flute geometry, combined with a high helix spiral flute design and AlTiN PVD coating, supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. At 4 inches overall length with a 0.75 inch straight-cylindrical shank, it is sized for rigid setups in CNC machining centers. Installation is handled by machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel and high-temperature alloys including superalloys and titanium in precision machining environments. The short length type and normal pitch classify it for stable, high-feed applications where chatter control is critical. Its right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. The UDDE series designation places it within a line optimized for difficult-to-machine materials where tool wear resistance and edge toughness are priorities. It is a single-end tool with no chipbreaker and no coolant-through feature, intended for external coolant or mist applications.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves with inch bores, HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores, and HC-HSK Form A toolholding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify shank runout and holder clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the tool length of cut when programming axial depth of cut, as cutting beyond the flute length risks tool deflection and breakage.
