The KENNAMETAL 2658410 is a taper length drill bit engineered for demanding metal-removal applications in production and job-shop environments. Built from solid carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, this bit handles elevated cutting temperatures while maintaining edge integrity in ferrous materials. It measures 15/32 inch (0.4688 inch) in diameter, carries a 132-degree point angle for accurate entry and reduced thrust, and delivers a flute length of 3.7008 inches with an overall length of 5.5512 inches. Designed for right-hand, spiral-flute cutting with a straight cylindrical shank, it is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians in CNC or manual drilling operations.
This drill bit is suited for cutting cast iron and steel in both light production and maintenance contexts. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces cutting forces and improves chip evacuation, making it practical for deeper bores up to a maximum drilling depth of 3.11 inches. The coolant-through design allows internal coolant delivery for extended tool life in high-duty-cycle applications. The shank diameter measures 12.00 mm (0.4724 inch decimal), with a shank length of 1.7717 inches. The bit conforms to DIN 6537K and carries a high-performance grade designation.
Rated for material applications in cast iron and steel. Designed as an OEM-specification taper length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses accepting a straight cylindrical shank with a 0.4724-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool-room personnel using a collet chuck or drill chuck rated for the straight cylindrical shank diameter. Confirm the machine spindle and coolant-through system pressure are compatible before seating the bit. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Do not use this bit in hand-held drilling equipment; it is intended for rigid, machine-mounted setups only.
