The KENNAMETAL 2646091 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with KSEM modular drill systems. It features a 0.8858-inch (22.00 mm) cutting diameter, a 140-degree included point angle, and a standard helical flute configuration with two flutes and two margins. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide and carries the KC7135 grade designation, suited for demanding drilling applications. A PVD-applied TiCN/TiN coating improves wear resistance and edge life. The insert seat size is 4, and the tip is secured via a clamp-style holding method. Metalworking machinists and tooling specialists install this tip as part of a modular drilling setup in production environments.
This drill tip is built for drilling steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and K (material grades P40 and K35). It fits into KSEM-series modular drill bodies at seat size 4. Typical applications include general drilling and stacked-plate drilling operations. The helical, regular-spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in these materials. The functional length is 0.4429 inches and the overall projection length is 0.5429 inches, with a flute length of 11.00 mm. Coolant-through capability is not included in this tip configuration.
Designed for use with KSEM-series modular drill bodies accepting seat size 4 replaceable tips. ISO number KSEM2250PCM. Compatible primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K).
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians using the appropriate KSEM clamp-style seating method. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing the drill tip. Seat contact surfaces should be inspected and cleaned before seating the new tip to ensure accurate location and secure clamping. Follow the drill body manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw using the specified tool.
