The KENNAMETAL 2624275 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built around the Mill 1-14 series platform, this tool accepts 8 inserts in EC14.. and EP14.. styles, secured by screw-type insert holding for repeatable rigidity under load. The cutter operates at a 0/90 degree lead angle, producing true square shoulders in a single pass. Maximum cutting diameter is 3 inches (76.20 mm), with a maximum depth of cut of 0.5600 inches (14.22 mm). Through-coolant capability supports extended insert life and chip evacuation during high-feed applications. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers of this tool.
The 2624275 is suited for face milling and square-shoulder contouring on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in job shop and production machining environments. It is designed for right-hand cutting direction and mounts via a 1 inch arbor hole, making it compatible with standard horizontal and vertical milling machine spindles as well as machining center arbor systems. The 8-flute configuration supports higher feed rates and improved surface finish in finish-milling passes. Through-coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone makes this tool well-suited for deep shoulder cuts and difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with EC14.. and EP14.. series indexable inserts within the KENNAMETAL Mill 1-14 tooling system. Mounts on 1 inch arbor-style spindle interfaces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the arbor and spindle bore are clean and free of burrs before mounting. Insert seating screws should be torqued with the appropriate Torx or hex key to the insert manufacturer specification found in the tooling system documentation. Verify through-coolant passages are clear and that the machine coolant system is compatible before use.
