The KENNAMETAL 2499813 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the KSEM series, designed for precision hole-making in steel and cast iron workpieces. The tip features a solid carbide construction with a KC7315 manufacturer grade and a fine grain material grade, coated with TiAlN via a PVD process for heat and wear resistance. The drill operates with a 140-degree included angle standard point and a helical, regular spiral flute configuration with 2 flutes and 2 margins. Coolant-through capability supports both flood and MQL (Minimum Quantity Lubricant) delivery. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical tradespeople and machining professionals specify this insert drill for high-throughput production drilling.
The 2499813 replaceable tip drill is suited for drilling applications in steel and cast iron, including inclined exit drilling, stacked plate drilling, and standard through-hole operations. The HPG insert geometry and insert seat size 8 configuration make it appropriate for demanding metal removal tasks. The coolant-through channels allow effective chip evacuation and thermal management during deep or high-feed drilling cycles in production machining environments.
Designed as a replaceable tip drill insert compatible with KSEM series toolholders requiring an insert seat size 8. ISO number KSEM3200HPGM. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel (P) and cast iron (K) per ISO material classification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machining personnel with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Clamp-style insert retention should be inspected before each use to confirm secure seating of the carbide tip. Coolant-through port alignment with the toolholder should be verified prior to operation. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications when securing the replaceable tip.
