The KENNAMETAL 2425794 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation DPMT3252LF and ISO designation DPMT11T308. Coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, this insert carries the KC5025 grade and is engineered for moderate wear-resistance and toughness across a broad range of workpiece materials. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle and positive side clearance geometry suits finishing and light machining operations. The insert measures 11.63 mm in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 5/32-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It mounts via a screw-on holding method and features two cutting edges per insert.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications on CNC lathes and turning centers. Primary target workpiece materials include stainless steel and superalloys and titanium, with the KC5025 grade also rated for steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials under moderate cutting conditions. The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining passes where controlled chip formation and surface finish are priorities. It is typically installed and changed by machinists and CNC operators in production or job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style screw-on replacement turning insert conforming to ANSI insert code DPMT3252 and ISO insert code DPMT11T308 for use in compatible screw-on style turning toolholders accepting a 55-degree diamond insert with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle.
Installation and insert indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and spindle locked before changing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the screw-on fastener. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Confirm maximum depth of cut does not exceed 1.25 mm to stay within rated insert geometry limits.
