The KENNAMETAL 2425661 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations in CNC and conventional turning applications. Carrying the ANSI code CCMT2152 and ISO code CCMT060208, this insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a TiAlN PVD coating, and a neutral hand orientation. The KC5025 grade delivers moderate wear resistance and toughness across a broad range of workpiece materials. The LF chip breaker geometry targets finishing and light machining passes, producing consistent chip control at lower depths of cut. Installed via screw-on holding method, this insert is suited for use by machining professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is well suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel, steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. The positive rake and positive side clearance geometry reduce cutting forces, making it appropriate for finishing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. The KC5025 grade is certified to both ANSI and ISO standards, making it compatible with toolholders designed for CCMT-style inserts in that size class. It is classified as a multi-use tool applicable across a range of material grades including C2 and C6 carbide classifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CCMT-style screw-on toolholders accepting ANSI size code 2152 or ISO size code 060208 inserts. Compatible with toolholders specified for a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, 0.0938-inch insert thickness, and a 0.1102-inch hole diameter.
This insert is installed and indexed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before changing inserts, confirm the machine is fully stopped, spindle is locked, and all motion axes are secured per shop lockout-tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw driver to seat the screw-on insert without over-tightening the clamping screw, as this can crack the carbide. Verify insert seating and toolholder condition before returning the machine to service.
