Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 2425331 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537L specification, it features a 140-degree split point with web thinning to reduce thrust and improve centering without a pilot hole. The TiAlN coating extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures, making it well suited for dry or minimum-quantity lubrication (MQL) machining strategies. At 8.60 mm in diameter with a 103.00 mm overall length and 61.00 mm flute length, this drill fits standard straight-shank toolholders and is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual drilling operations.

This drill is rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the coolant-through design allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge, supporting deeper hole applications and extended tool life in high-volume production runs. Typical applications include structural components, mold and die work, and general machining where consistent hole tolerance is required. The drill bit diameter tolerance of plus 0.006 to plus 0.021 mm supports close-tolerance bore work without a reaming step in many applications.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction for rigidity and wear resistance in hard and abrasive materials
  • TiAlN coating provides thermal barrier for dry and MQL cutting applications
  • 140-degree point angle with web thinning reduces entry thrust and improves hole location accuracy
  • Coolant-through design delivers coolant directly to the cutting zone for deep-hole drilling
  • Regular spiral flute promotes reliable chip evacuation in a wide range of workpiece materials
  • DIN 6537L specification ensures dimensional conformity with standard toolholder systems

Compatibility

Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. Fits straight-shank toolholders sized for a 10 mm shank diameter. Designed as a jobber-length drill per DIN 6537L for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses.

Installation Notes

This drill is installed by machinists using standard ER collet chucks or hydraulic toolholders rated for straight-shank tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and undamaged before seating the shank. Verify correct coolant-through pressure and flow is available at the spindle before using internal coolant delivery. Do not use in hand-held drilling applications; this is a precision carbide tool intended for rigid machine setups only.
