The KENNAMETAL 2425325 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding industrial and mechanical applications. Built to DIN 6537L specification, it features a 140-degree split point with web thinning for reduced thrust and accurate self-starting entry. The TiAlN coating provides heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The drill measures 6.60 mm (0.2598 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches) and a flute length of 53.00 mm (2.0866 inches). Material grade KC7315 and a parallel web configuration make this drill well-suited for through-hole and blind-hole work in hard-to-machine materials.
This drill is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the coolant-through design allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, extending tool life in deep-hole and production drilling scenarios. Typical installations include CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production equipment where consistent hole tolerance and tool longevity are required. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and drill holders sized for an 8 mm shank.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpieces. Fits standard 8 mm straight-shank collet chucks and drill holders. Diameter tolerance of +0.006 to +0.021 mm suits close-tolerance hole applications per DIN specification.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the drill from the holder. Verify collet or chuck runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the workpiece, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on solid carbide tools. Coolant-through setups require that internal coolant passages in the spindle are clear and that supply pressure is appropriate for the drilling depth.
