The KENNAMETAL 2425145 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537K specification and manufactured in the B966A series, it carries a TiAlN coating and a 140-degree split point with web thinning for fast, accurate starts without a center punch. At 8.90 mm (0.3504 inches) diameter with a straight cylindrical 10.00 mm shank, this bit handles the short, rigid setup typical of CNC machining centers and screw machines. The Dynapoint High Performance material grade KC7315 gives it the wear resistance needed for extended production runs. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and production floor technicians are the primary users.
This drill bit is designed for use in screw machine and short-run CNC applications where a compact overall length and rigid shank are required. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel. The 47.00 mm flute length and 35.00 mm maximum drilling depth suit it for through-holes and moderate blind-hole work in ferrous stock. Its straight cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders without an adapter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection for screw machine and CNC drilling applications in cast iron and steel workpieces, consistent with B966A series specifications.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by qualified machinists with the machine in a full stop and locked-out state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight shank fully into the chuck or collet holder and verify runout before cycling. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 35.00 mm per pass without retracting to clear chips. Consult machine tool and cutting fluid manufacturer guidelines for appropriate speeds, feeds, and coolant strategy when drilling cast iron or steel.
