The KENNAMETAL 2390257 is a solid carbide milling insert in the SEKT series, designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining applications. It carries the ISO designation SEKT1404AEENGP2 and ANSI designation SEKT443AEEN7GP2, with a manufacturer grade of KC725M. The insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, a positive rake geometry, and a honed cutting edge style. At 0.5512 inches inscribed circle and 0.1875 inches thick, it delivers four usable cutting edges per insert with a 1.00 mm corner radius and a 20-degree relief angle. Screw-held and single-sided, it fits the KSSM cutter series and is suited to high-speed steel and superalloy milling operations.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering material grades C5, C6, and C7 (ISO material codes P, M, and S). It is a neutral-hand insert appropriate for a range of face milling and shoulder milling setups in production machining environments. The GP2 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across these work materials. Machinists and CNC operators in aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing will find this insert applicable to medium-to-finishing cut conditions where tight tolerances and surface finish consistency are required.
Compatible with the KSSM cutter series. Designed as a direct replacement or standard insert for milling cutters accepting SEKT-series square inserts with screw-held mounting. Verify cutter pocket geometry and insert size code 443 fitment before installation.
Insert replacement and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered off and spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw specified by the cutter body manufacturer when securing the screw-held insert. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for wear or debris before installing a new insert. Follow the cutter body manufacturer guidelines for recommended cutting parameters when using KC725M grade in the applicable material groups.
