The KENNAMETAL 2383586 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It carries the ISO designation SPCT10T3PPELLD2 and is manufactured in grade KC725M with a three-layer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN. The square insert geometry features a 90-degree included angle, an 11-degree relief angle, and a 1/32 inch (0.0315 inch decimal) corner radius. Thickness measures 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch decimal) and the inscribed circle diameter is 0.3940 inch (10.00 mm). The LD2 chip breaker geometry and left-hand orientation make this insert suited for specific cutter bodies requiring that hand designation. Installation is by screw clamping.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium alloys, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. It fits cutter bodies of the SPCT series that accept a size 31 square insert with a 0.1339 inch hole diameter. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and finishing or semi-finishing passes where a controlled corner radius and reliable chip formation are required. The KC725M grade and PVD coating combination is engineered to provide wear resistance and edge stability across a range of cutting speeds on ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. This insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use in SPCT-series cutter bodies that accept a size 31 square screw-on insert with a 0.1339 inch hole diameter and a left-hand orientation. Compatible workpiece materials include steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), superalloys, and titanium (ISO S), per material grade classifications C5, C6, and C7.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Seat the insert firmly against the pocket locating surfaces before torquing the clamping screw; do not force the insert. Inspect the pocket and screw threads for wear or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate seating and prevent premature edge failure.
