The KENNAMETAL 2267627 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built around the M1D150E1803W125L225 ISO designation, this Mill 1 cutter style features a 1-1/2 inch cutting diameter and accepts three EC18 or EP18 series inserts secured by screw-type insert holding. The 1-1/4 inch Weldon Flat shank provides positive drive engagement in standard end mill holders. Maximum depth of cut is 18.03 mm (0.71 inches), and the tool reaches a maximum spindle speed of 29,020 RPM. Overall assembly length is 115.06 mm. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers and operators of this tooling.
This end mill is suited for square-shoulder milling, face milling, and peripheral milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The three-insert configuration delivers balanced cutting forces at moderate to high feed rates. The 1/4 inch coolant port diameter on the shank supports directed coolant delivery at the cutting zone when used in coolant-capable spindle setups, though through-spindle coolant is not supported on this tool body. Typical applications include production milling of steel, cast iron, and aluminum alloy components.
Compatible with EC18 and EP18 series indexable inserts. Designed for use in standard 1-1/4 inch Weldon Flat end mill holders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before mounting or removing the tool body. Torque insert screws to the tool manufacturer specification using the appropriate Torx or hex key supplied with or specified for the insert system. Inspect insert seats and clamping screws for wear or damage before each tool change to maintain runout and surface finish tolerances.
