The KENNAMETAL 2210127 is a solid carbide milling insert in the XPMT series, designed for indexable milling operations in demanding metal-cutting applications. This left-hand, single-sided parallelogram insert carries an ISO code of XPMT150412L and uses the KCPK30 manufacturer grade with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3. At 0.1875 inches thick and 0.5000 inches wide, with a 1.20 mm (0.0472 inch) corner radius and an 11-degree relief angle, it is engineered for controlled chip formation and extended tool life across a range of ferrous and exotic workpiece materials. Installation is screw-held. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 5.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — material grade codes P, M, K, and S. The XPMT150412L geometry and KCPK30 grade combination targets moderate to aggressive cutting conditions where thermal resistance and edge toughness are required. It is typically applied in face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling setups on CNC machining centers in both production and job-shop environments. The maximum depth of cut is 0.2950 inches. Qualified machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary end users.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard milling insert for XPMT-series indexable milling toolholders that accept the 150412 insert size with a screw-held clamping method. Confirm toolholder hand orientation and pocket geometry before installation.
This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating the new insert, and verify correct hand orientation — this is a left-hand insert and must be matched to a left-hand toolholder pocket.
