The KENNAMETAL 2047435 is a replaceable drill tip in the KSEM series, designed for use with compatible KSEM modular drill bodies. It features a 0.9690-inch (24.61 mm) cutting diameter with a 140-degree point angle and an HP insert geometry optimized for consistent chip formation and entry stability. Manufactured from solid carbide with a fine grain structure and coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, this tip delivers thermal resistance and wear performance in steel cutting applications. The seat size 5 interface provides a secure clamped connection to the drill body. Machinists and tooling technicians in metalworking and precision machining operations install this tip as part of a modular drill system.
This replaceable tip is intended for drilling operations in steel workpieces, classified under ISO material group P. It is suited for a range of demanding drilling scenarios including inclined entry, inclined exit, stacked plate drilling, and standard through-hole drilling. The 2-flute, 2-margin helical flute configuration with a regular spiral supports chip evacuation in these conditions. It is installed in machining centers, CNC lathes with live tooling, and dedicated drilling machines where the KSEM modular drill system is in use.
Designed for use with KSEM series modular drill bodies accepting an insert seat size 5. Compatible drilling applications include steel workpieces in ISO material group P. Refer to KENNAMETAL KSEM system documentation to confirm body and seat size pairing before installation.
This tip is installed and removed by qualified tooling technicians or machinists using the appropriate KSEM clamping tool or torque key specified for the drill body. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing the insert tip. Inspect the seat and clamping surfaces for chips or contamination prior to seating the new tip. Do not force the tip into the seat or exceed the clamping torque specified in the KENNAMETAL KSEM body documentation.
