The KENNAMETAL 2047432 is a carbide replaceable tip drill from the KSEM series, designed for precision hole-making in steel and similar workpiece materials. Built around the KSEM2350HPM tip geometry, this drill accepts an HP-geometry insert in seat size 4, secured by a clamp-style holding method. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide in a fine grain grade designated KC7315, finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating that supports extended tool life in ferrous materials. The cutting diameter is 23.5mm (0.9252 inches), with a 140-degree drill point angle and a standard helical flute configuration using a regular spiral pattern. Two flutes and two margins provide stable cutting action. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this drill in drill presses, machining centers, and turning centers.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for production drilling operations in steel, covering ISO material code P applications. The KSEM series platform is commonly used in horizontal and vertical machining centers where consistent hole quality and fast tip changeovers are priorities. Supported applications include standard drilling, inclined exit drilling, and stacked plate drilling, making this drill usable in multi-part fixturing setups. The 12mm flute length keeps the cutting zone compact relative to the 23.5mm diameter for improved chip evacuation.
Designed as an OEM-compatible replaceable tip for KSEM series drill bodies accepting seat size 4 inserts. Tip ISO number KSEM2350HPM. Verify seat size and series compatibility with the drill body before ordering.
Installation and tip replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer lockout and energy isolation procedures before accessing the spindle. Use calibrated torque tools as specified by KENNAMETAL tooling documentation for clamp fastener tightening — do not over-torque the clamping screw. Inspect the insert seat for chips or contamination before seating the replacement tip. Confirm runout and seating after installation before returning the machine to cutting operation.
