The KENNAMETAL 1937539 is a solid carbide triangular turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. Coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, the KC5025 grade insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability when machining difficult materials. It features a 60-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a flat-top chipbreaker geometry with a positive rake angle. The inscribed circle diameter measures 0.1600 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0156 inches (1/64 inch). Three cutting edges are available per insert, maximizing tool economy. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production shops are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is engineered for turning stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — material groups coded M and S under ISO and ANSI classification standards. It suits high-demand production environments where consistent surface finish and edge integrity are critical. The screw-on holding method provides secure seating in compatible toolholders.
