The KENNAMETAL 1913646 is a taper length drill bit engineered for demanding metal-cutting and precision boring applications. Built from solid carbide, this bit delivers superior hardness and heat resistance compared to high-speed steel alternatives. It features a 0.689 inch diameter, a 140-degree standard point angle, and a web-thinned parallel web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at entry. Coolant-through capability allows internal delivery of cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, making it suitable for deep-hole drilling in tight-tolerance production environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This drill bit is suited for high-precision production drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight diameter tolerances are required. The spiral flute geometry and right-hand cut make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and drill presses. With an overall length of 8.25 inches and a flute length of 6.41 inches, it provides extended reach for applications where standard-length drills cannot achieve the required depth. The straight cylindrical shank at 0.7087 inches diameter fits ER and straight-bore toolholders commonly found in production shops.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application taper length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a straight cylindrical shank of 0.7087 inches diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle powered down and locked out per applicable machine-guarding procedures. Secure the straight shank firmly in a compatible collet or chuck to the toolholder manufacturer specification before operation. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and that the machine coolant system is configured to supply internal coolant when using the through-coolant feature. Inspect the cutting edges and point for chipping before each use; carbide is brittle and sensitive to impact damage during handling.
