The KENNAMETAL 1875166 is a right-hand DWLN-style indexable turning toolholder engineered for negative-rake external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Part of the Kennametal Kenclamp series, it features a secure clamp-style insert holding method that locks WN..43. series inserts firmly during interrupted and continuous cuts. The 1.25-inch by 1.25-inch steel shank and 6-inch overall length make it a standard fit for medium-duty lathe tool blocks and turret stations. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant must be directed externally. Weighing 2.78 pounds, the holder is built for rigidity and repeatability across high-volume turning applications.
This toolholder is suited for production turning environments where consistent insert positioning and repeatable tool offset are required. The 5-degree lead angle and 1-inch head length position the insert for efficient chip flow on straight turning and facing passes. It is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians in job shops, production cells, and tool rooms working with steel, cast iron, and similar machinable materials. The Kenclamp clamping system allows fast insert indexing without removing the holder from the turret, reducing changeover time during high-volume runs.
Designed to accept WN..43. series inserts (complete compatibility: WN.. 432). Verify turret or tool block bore and centerline height match the 1.25 x 1.25 inch shank before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down the machine and engage the spindle lock before removing or seating the holder in the turret or tool block. Torque the clamping screw to the insert manufacturer's specified value using the correct Torx or hex key - do not overtighten. After installation, verify tool centerline height and confirm offset values in the control before resuming cutting operations.
