The KENNAMETAL 1875151 is a left-hand DDJN-style negative rake indexable turning toolholder engineered for precision external turning operations on a lathe. Part of the Kennametal Kenclamp series, this toolholder uses a clamp-style insert holding method to secure DN..43. series inserts at a 3-degree lead angle. The 1-1/4 inch square shank measures 6 inches in overall length, providing rigid support for interrupted and continuous cuts in steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. Weighing 2.6 pounds, it is sized for standard production and toolroom lathes. Licensed machinists and CNC turning professionals are the primary installers and users.
This toolholder is suited for external turning and facing applications on manual engine lathes and CNC turning centers where a left-hand cutting direction is required. The negative rake geometry helps extend insert life on harder workpiece materials and where heavier depths of cut are typical. The Kenclamp holding method keeps the DN..43. insert securely indexed under high cutting forces. It does not include coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for flood or dry cutting setups in general-purpose production environments.
Designed to accept DN..43. series indexable inserts (complete insert compatibility: DN.. 432) with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle. Fits lathe tool posts and turrets accepting a 1-1/4 inch square shank. Confirm turret or tool block bore size and hand orientation before ordering.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine is powered down and in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool post. Torque all tool block fasteners to the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Verify insert seating and clamp condition before returning the machine to operation.
