The KENNAMETAL 1832296 is a CNMG433MP KC5010 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production environments. Coated with titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN) via a PVD process, this insert delivers thermal resistance and wear protection on difficult-to-machine materials. The 80-degree diamond insert shape (Insert Shape Code C) provides strength and versatility across multiple operations. It carries a negative rake angle of 6 degrees, a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, and an MP chip breaker geometry engineered to control chip flow during moderate to heavy cutting passes. Four cutting edges are available per insert, maximizing tool economy. Insert length is 12.9 mm (0.5077 inches) with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. It belongs to the KENLOC series and is held in place by a clamp and pin method, making it compatible with KENLOC-style toolholders designed for CNMG geometry inserts. The KC5010 grade is formulated for ISO material groups P, M, and S, with secondary application capability in N and additional P and S applications. It is appropriate for CNC lathes and turning centers used in both production and job-shop environments where consistent edge performance on tough alloys is required. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.050 inches).

This insert is installed by a machinist or CNC toolroom technician into a compatible CNMG clamp-and-pin toolholder. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and locating pin for debris or wear before installing a new insert. Do not overtighten the clamp screw beyond toolholder manufacturer specifications, and verify insert seating before resuming cutting operations.
