The KENNAMETAL 1819207 is a CNMG432FP turning insert in grade KT315 cermet, designed for precision finishing operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert features a multilayer PVD coating of TiN/TiCN/TiN that delivers high wear resistance across steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials. At 0.5 inches inscribed circle with a 0.03125 inches corner radius and an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, this insert is well suited to finish turning, facing, and boring at tight tolerances. It carries both ANSI and ISO certification, with ANSI code CNMG432 and ISO code CNMG120408. Licensed CNC machinists and toolroom technicians working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers.
This insert fits toolholders in the KENNAMETAL KENLOC series and is appropriate for finishing passes on steel (P), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K) workpieces. The FP chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm). It is a neutral-hand insert suitable for turning, facing, and boring operations in both light production and precision machining environments. The insert accepts clamping or pin-style holding methods, giving flexibility across a range of toolholder configurations.
Designed for use in KENNAMETAL KENLOC series toolholders that accept CNMG432 or CNMG120408 style inserts with clamp or pin retention. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring applications on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Verify the toolholder pocket and clamping hardware are free of chips and damage before securing the insert. Index or replace the insert when surface finish or dimensional accuracy degrades, not after catastrophic edge failure.
