The KENNAMETAL 1794655 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation BGHX15L5PCTRGG in manufacturer grade KC510M. Featuring a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this single-sided insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding metal-removal operations. It has a positive rake angle of 30 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and a GG chip breaker geometry. Thickness measures 0.197 inches, and the inscribed circle diameter is 0.1969 inches. The insert is screw-held and designed for right-hand cutting. It is suited for machinists and CNC programmers running high-productivity face milling or shoulder milling on a Fix-Perfect cutter body.
This insert is rated for use on steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys and titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material application codes P, N, S, and H. That broad material range makes it a practical choice for job shops and production environments dealing with mixed-material run schedules. The GG chip breaker supports chip control across a range of depths and feed rates. Maximum depth of cut is 0.500 inches. Each insert provides two cutting edges, extending tool life per unit cost. The insert is compatible with Kennametal Fix-Perfect series cutter bodies designed for the BGHX insert style and size code 15L5.
Designed for use in Kennametal Fix-Perfect series cutter bodies that accept BGHX-style inserts with size code 15L5. Confirmed compatible cutter series: Fix-Perfect. ANSI and ISO code: BGHX15L5PCTRGG.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw, and use the correct Torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer. Inspect the pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
