The KENNAMETAL 1785752 is a solid carbide turning insert designated CPGT3252HP in the KC5410 grade, PVD-coated with titanium diboride (TiB2) for high wear resistance when machining aluminum and non-ferrous metals. The insert carries an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, and an 11-degree relief angle with positive side clearance. Insert length is 9.67 mm (0.3808 inches), the inscribed circle is 3/8 inches, and the corner radius is 1/32 inches. The HP chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing operations. This is a screw-on style insert secured by a single fastener through the center hole.
This insert is engineered for turning, facing, and boring operations on non-ferrous workpiece materials, including aluminum alloys and other N-group materials where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities. The TiB2 PVD coating resists aluminum adhesion and built-up edge, making it well suited for high-speed finishing passes in production environments. The neutral hand orientation allows use in standard right-hand toolholders configured for CPGT geometry. CNC machinists and toolroom operators are the primary users in both job shop and high-volume production settings.
Designed for use in CPGT-style screw-on toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards; ANSI insert code CPGT3252, ISO insert code CPGT09T308. Suitable for multi-use applications including turning, facing, and boring. Material grade classification C3 and C4.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians using a torx or hex key driver appropriate for the screw-on insert style. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured in the turret before seating or removing the insert. Verify the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping procedure to ensure proper insert contact and repeatability.
