The KENNAMETAL 1712603 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for external UN thread cutting at 18 threads per inch (TPI). Designated by ISO code LT16ER18UNCB, this insert features a right-hand cutting orientation and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, which improves wear resistance and tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The KC5010 grade is engineered for threading operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. With an inscribed circle of 3/8 inches and a thickness of 0.1430 inches (3.44 mm), this insert fits standard ER-style laydown threading toolholders used in CNC turning and threading applications.
This insert is suited for external threading on turned components across residential, commercial, and industrial machining environments.
