The KENNAMETAL 1519285 is a replaceable-tip drill body designed for precise, high-depth boring in metalworking and machining operations. It accepts KSEM1063 inserts at seat size 6, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped without replacing the entire body. The drill covers a diameter range of 26.99 to 27.49 mm (1.0626 to 1.0823 inches) and reaches a maximum drill depth of 196 mm (7.72 inches), delivering a 7xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Through-coolant capability is built in via a 4.00 mm (0.1575 inch) coolant hole, supporting thermal management and chip evacuation at depth. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This drill body is suited for medium-to-large diameter deep-hole drilling applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 31.75 mm in diameter and 82.55 mm (3.25 inches) in length, making it compatible with standard CAT, BT, HSK, or hydraulic chucks sized for that shank diameter. The KSEM series is commonly applied in horizontal and vertical machining centers where consistent hole tolerance and high material-removal rates are required. The overall length of 317.5 mm (12.50 inches) and flute length of 230.93 mm (9.09 inches) suit setups requiring extended reach without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed for use with KSEM1063 replaceable-tip inserts at insert seat size 6 within the KENNAMETAL KSEM drill series. The straight-cylindrical shank interfaces with standard toolholders sized for a 31.75 mm shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Ensure the shank bore and chuck are clean and free of chips before clamping to the specified holding torque for the toolholder type in use. Insert tip seating should be verified for proper engagement before first use; consult the KENNAMETAL KSEM insert installation documentation for seat-cleaning and torquing procedure. Through-coolant lines should be confirmed clear and at the correct pressure for the spindle before running the tool at depth.
