The KENNAMETAL 1505138 is a replaceable-tip drill body designed for precision hole-making in metalworking applications. It accepts KSEM0625 series inserts at Insert Seat Size 1, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped without replacing the full body. The drill covers a diameter range of 15.88 mm to 16.38 mm (0.6252 to 0.6449 inches) with a maximum drill depth of 80 mm (3.15 inches) and an overall length of 171.45 mm (6.75 inches). Through-coolant delivery via 1/8-27 NPT ports at both the shank end and body side supports chip evacuation and tool life at depth. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 1505138 is built for the KSEM platform and suited to 5xD depth-of-cut applications in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 19.05 mm (0.75 inch) Weldon Flat shank provides positive drive retention in standard end-mill holders and side-lock tool holders. With a flute length of 99.19 mm (3.91 inches) and a shank length of 2.00 inches, the body is compatible with common machining center and lathe setups requiring deep, through-coolant drilling. It is appropriate for use in CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers where coolant pressure is available to the spindle.
Compatible with KSEM0625 series replaceable-tip inserts at Insert Seat Size 1. Part of the KSEM series platform. Designed for use in standard 19.05 mm Weldon Flat side-lock tool holders on CNC machining centers with through-spindle coolant capability.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool builder guidelines for side-lock toolholders. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before inserting or removing the drill body. Confirm coolant supply pressure is compatible with the NPT port rating before activating through-coolant flow. The replaceable insert tip should be seated and torqued per the KSEM insert installation procedure using the appropriate KENNAMETAL torx key — do not exceed the manufacturer-specified clamping torque for the seat size.
