The KENNAMETAL 1505125 is a replaceable-tip drill body engineered for accurate hole-making in a diameter range of 26.99 to 27.49 mm (1.0626 to 1.0823 inches). It accepts KSEM1063 inserts at insert seat size 6, allowing tip replacement without removing the body from the machine. The drill delivers a maximum drilling depth of 84 mm (3.31 inches) at a 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio, with an overall length of 222.25 mm (8.75 inches) and a flute length of 117.48 mm (4.625 inches). A Weldon Flat shank with a 31.75 mm diameter provides positive rotational drive in compatible toolholders. Through-coolant capability keeps the cutting zone clear and extends insert life in demanding applications.
This drill body is suited for CNC machining centers and turning centers in metalworking environments, including production shops handling steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. The KSEM series platform is designed for high-feed drilling where consistent hole size and tool life are production priorities. It is typically set up and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, aerospace, die-and-mold, and general manufacturing environments. The through-coolant system supports deep-hole chip evacuation at the 3xD depth range without auxiliary coolant fixtures.
Compatible with KSEM1063 replaceable-tip inserts at insert seat size 6. Part of the KSEM series platform. Designed for use in machine toolholders that accept a 31.75 mm Weldon Flat shank. Requires a machine tool with through-spindle or through-toolholder coolant supply to utilize the coolant-through feature.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the drill body from the toolholder. Secure the Weldon Flat shank firmly against the flat with the setscrew before running. When replacing the tip insert, follow the manufacturer torque and seating procedure for KSEM insert installation and inspect the seat for debris or damage before each tip change.
