The KENNAMETAL 1330472 is a replaceable-tip drill body designed for precision hole-making in metalworking applications. Part of the KSEM series, this drill body accepts KSEM1063 insert tips at an insert seat size 6, allowing fast tip changes without removing the body from the spindle. It covers a diameter range of 26.99 to 27.49 mm (1.0626 to 1.0823 inches) and reaches a maximum drill depth of 140 mm (5.51 inches), representing a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Through-coolant delivery is built in via a 4.00 mm (0.1575 inch) coolant hole, supporting high-pressure coolant systems for chip evacuation and heat management. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and metalworking plants are the primary installers.
The 1330472 is suited for production drilling in CNC machining centers and turning centers where consistent hole diameter and depth repeatability are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 31.75 mm in diameter and 82.55 mm (3.25 inches) in length, fitting standard toolholders with matching bore sizes. The 5xD depth capability makes it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Applications include automotive component machining, die and mold work, and general precision part manufacturing where interchangeable-tip drilling systems reduce per-hole tooling cost.
Compatible with KSEM1063 series replaceable insert tips at insert seat size 6. Designed for use in CNC machining centers equipped with toolholders accepting a 31.75 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Refer to KSEM series documentation for the full range of compatible insert grades and geometries.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians following the machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before removing or installing the drill body or replacing insert tips. Verify the toolholder bore matches the 31.75 mm shank diameter and that the body is clamped to the recommended pull-out retention specification for the holder style in use. Confirm coolant line pressure and flow are within the range specified for the KSEM system before running the tool.
