The KENNAMETAL 1329708 is a replaceable-tip drill body designed for precision hole-making in metal cutting applications. It accepts KSEM0969 series inserts at seat size 5, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped without replacing the full body. The drill covers a diameter range of 24.61 to 25.11 mm (0.9689 to 0.9886 inches) with a maximum drill depth of 130 mm (5.12 inches) and a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Overall length is 241.3 mm (9.5 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank measures 25.4 mm in diameter and 76.20 mm in length, compatible with standard machine tool holders. Through-coolant delivery via a 4 mm coolant hole supports chip evacuation and thermal management at depth.
This drill body is suited for CNC machining centers and turning centers running high-volume production work in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. The KSEM platform is a common choice in manufacturing and job shop environments where consistent hole quality and reduced tooling cost per hole are priorities. A licensed machinist or tooling technician typically installs and qualifies this tool at the machine. The 5xD depth capability makes it applicable to through-hole and blind-hole operations where standard stub drills fall short.
Designed for use with KSEM0969 series replaceable drill tips at insert seat size 5. Part of the KSEM drill body platform. Refer to KENNAMETAL KSEM tooling documentation to confirm insert and holder compatibility for your specific machine spindle and application.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing the drill body. Clean the shank and holder bore before assembly to ensure accurate runout. Follow the machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for the retention mechanism and verify insert seating and clamping per KENNAMETAL KSEM tooling guidelines before cutting.
