The KENNAMETAL 1191455 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. Built to DIN 6537L specification, it features a 130-degree point angle with web thinning for reduced thrust and improved chip evacuation at entry. The three-flute regular spiral configuration supports higher feed rates and better hole finish compared to standard two-flute designs. At 12.50 mm in diameter with a 124.00 mm overall length and a 77.00 mm flute length, this drill suits production environments where tight tolerances and consistent performance are required. Material grade K10 carbide provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for challenging workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users.
This drill is suited for machining cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. It fits both manual and CNC drilling operations where a straight cylindrical shank is appropriate. The bright uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for applications where coating adhesion to the workpiece material could be a concern or where re-grinding is anticipated. Maximum drilling depth is 60.00 mm, making it appropriate for moderate-depth holes in production and job-shop settings.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use solid carbide jobber drill for CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with standard straight-shank tool holders accepting a 14.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are clean and properly torqued before seating the shank to prevent runout. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loading or interrupted cuts beyond the tool design intent, and do not use this drill in hammer or percussive drilling modes. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and coolant delivery when setting up the operation.
