The KENNAMETAL 1160077 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the VNGA331 geometry, part of the KENLOC series. It features a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a neutral hand orientation and a flat-top chip breaker. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches, insert length is approximately 1.308 inches (16.61 mm), and the corner radius is 1/64 inches. Grade K68 is formulated for high wear-resistance to moderate wear-resistance and toughness across stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. With four available cutting edges, this insert delivers extended tool life in production turning environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metal fabrication and precision machining shops are the primary users.
This insert is suited for a broad range of turning operations including turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. It performs on non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The VNGA geometry with negative rake and negative side clearance makes it compatible with rigid, negative-style toolholders used in high-production and medium-duty CNC lathe applications. The flat-top chip breaker geometry is best matched to applications requiring consistent chip control without a molded breaker profile.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts.
